Outreach effort focused on recruiting leaders who are ready to work to shape the future of LA Pride and dedicated to building stronger ties with the local community

West Hollywood, CA – Today, Christopher Street West (CSW), the non-profit organization that produces the annual LA Pride Festival and Parade, announces the start of a major recruitment effort for leaders across LA’s LGBTQ+ and ally communities to apply to be a part of the organization’s Board of Directors.

“Being a part of LA Pride’s Board takes a lot of passion, commitment, and dedication,” says Chris Classen, CSW Board President. “The directors on our Board don’t just sit around the table making decisions; they get their hands dirty and work tirelessly throughout the year to give back to our local community.”

What many people don’t realize is that it takes a small army of dedicated individuals comprising a variety of skill sets to plan and execute the many community-focused programs and initiatives led by LA Pride throughout the year. The goal of this recruitment effort is to attract thought leaders, influencers, and doers across marketing, finance, legal, fundraising, corporate sponsorship, event management, operations, programming, and more.

“We’ve got some some big goals for the year ahead,” says Classen. “I’m hoping a large and diverse array of people apply so we can build the right team to help us make the 2018 Pride season the best yet.”

Interested applicants can download and submit an application today. All applications must be received by CSW no later than September 8, 2017. For more information, please contact [email protected].

About Christopher Street West (CSW) & LA Pride

Christopher Street West (CSW), a 501(c)3 non-profit, organized the world’s first permitted parade advocating for gay rights on June 28, 1970, as a response to and in commemoration of the Stonewall Rebellion on Christopher Street in New York City the year prior. Since then, we have built a rich history as an active voice for the LGBTQ+ community across the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area. Today, we continue to produce the globally-recognized LA Pride Parade and Festival every June in the City of West Hollywood. We also organize a number of events throughout the year with our non-profit, philanthropic, community, and corporate partners. Visit lapride.org for more information.
